ASHRAE
ASHRAE Standard 62.2 2013 is a national standard that provides methods for achieving minimally acceptable indoor air quality (IAQ) for typical residences. This standard is applicable to single-family houses and multi-family structures of no more than three stories. ASHRAE 62.2 2010 provides two ventilation methods, both of which need to be used to help achieve acceptable indoor air quality:
- Whole-House Ventilation
- Local Exhaust
When selecting a ventilation strategy that is best for your application, you should consider local code requirements, geographic location, special needs of occupants, and specific indoor and outdoor air-quality issues. LEED
The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) LEED for Homes Rating System makes it possible for builders to apply to have their homes LEED certified. American Aldes ventilation products provide solutions to meet Prerequisites under the Indoor Environmental Quality (EQ) category and up to 18 points in the LEED for Homes Rating System. ENERGY STAR
Many Aldes products are ENERGY STAR certified. Earning the ENERGY STAR certification means products meet strict energy efficiency guidelines set by the US Environmental Protection Agency. Products that have earned the ENERGY STAR deliver exceptional features, while using less energy. Saving energy helps homeowners save money on utility bills and protect our climate by helping prevent harmful carbon pollution and reducing other greenhouse gases.
Home Ventilating Institute
American Aldes products are HVI certified, so you know you’re getting quality products. The Certified Rating Programs of HVI were created to provide a fair and credible method of comparing ventilation performance of similar products. Products must be tested to qualify for certification, plus a random verification testing program ensures that the products continue to meet their certified performance ratings. All testing for certification and verification is performed by third-party laboratories independent of any manufacturer. The HVI-Certified label on residential ventilating products is the consumer’s assurance that the air flow, sound, energy, and lighting ratings advertised are the results of tests performed by an independent laboratory and verified by HVI.
Building America
American Aldes adheres the Building America’s guidelines for ventilation products. The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Building America program has been a source of innovations in residential building energy performance, durability, quality, affordability, and comfort for 20 years. This world-class research program partners with industry (including many of the top U.S. home builders) to bring cutting-edge innovations and resources to market.
